This development has been driven by a number of factors. One factor is the rise in virtual teams – people who work closely together independent of their geography and who need to plan, communicate and coordinate their projects independent of their physical location. Another factor is undoubtedly cost. Organisations see virtual presentations as an opportunity to save on the travel and accommodation expenses occasioned by everyone coming together in person in one place. So love them or hate them, virtual presentations are here to stay and bring with them some unique challenges for the presenter.
