The thinking around leadership today is that, arguably, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ leadership style - rather successful leaders understand that they have to adapt their style and approach to the context and the people involved in order to get results and keep everyone motivated and engaged. We believe that a coaching approach goes a long way to achieving these things and brings many benefits. Leaders who know when to adopt a coaching mindset, ask powerful questions and really listen to the answers are able to communicate effectively, holding coaching conversations that engage their people differently, tapping into hidden potential, boosting motivation and stimulating bigger thinking.
“The goal of the leader who coaches is to improve people’s thinking and unlock their potential to maximise their own performance by engaging in dialogue with them, thus generating multiple options and effective solutions for all stakeholders.” Maureen Steele and Cristina Bianchi The Training Box TipsSupport your “Leader as Coach” journeyA great bookFind out how you can step into a coaching role and break through to new ideas with this ground-breaking book.
